The Jazzmania big band contains some of the best young jazz talent in The Netherlands.
Throughout the years the big band has been very active in the Dutch and European music scene taking part in national and international big band festivals both home and abroad. During its eighteen year existence the band has won a total of twenty eight prizes in national and international competitions, including five second prizes and sixteen firsts! In the year of this recording (2002) the band swept the board at the Dutch National Big Band Competition in Hoofddorp winning all the available prizes: best big band, best drummer, best soloist and best saxophonist.
