Job Summary

Safely operates tapping machines including loading parts into a bowl at or above shoulder height, replacing taps at predetermined interval and removing chips from machines. Inspects parts visually and with thread plug gauge, along with filling out check sheet.

Essential Functions

• Safely operates tapping machines located in several locations.
• Manual loads untapped parts in bowl at or above shoulder height.
• Verifies product meets acceptance criteria using a go/no-go thread plug gauge and visual criteria using an eye loupe/magnification. Records results on check sheet.
• Moves oily product from tapping machine area to a skid or cart.
• Tags containers to ensure product traceability.
• Changes taps at predetermined intervals.
• Clears chips from tapping machine into chip cart, takes chip cart to recycling area and returns with empty chip cart.
• Safely, efficiently and effectively makes product and communicates with set up person, team leader and team members to assist in meeting goals.
• Participates in team meetings and works well with team members. Actively participates in continuous improvement activities to assist team in meeting goals.

Tasks

• Find and utilize control plans on computer to ensure product quality.
• Find and follow department procedures on computer.
• Segregates tapped product from untapped product.
• Segregate, document and control non-conforming product.
• Reports faulty machine conditions immediately and notifies the set up person if any repairs or adjustments are needed.
• Obtains empty baskets, bins and skids for use.
• Insures daily preventative maintenance is performed as defined by department procedures.
• Keeps work area organized and clean at all times.
• Verifies all gages are calibrated prior to use.
• Observes all safety regulations in all duties.
• Performs other tasks as required.

Physical Requirements

· Able to lift/transfer 30 lbs. up to 30 times per hour.

· Good visual acuity.

· Must be able to stand approximately 8-10 hours/day.

· Must be able to work in an unair-conditioned, well ventilated and/or air conditioned shop environment.

Education/Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.

We will train candidates that do not have experience but have strong mechnical skills and a desire to learn.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $11.31 - $20.25 per hour
